Biography:

Yuriy Butyrin graduated in 1949 from the sculpture department of Moscow art-prom. school №41, and worked on the restoration and decoration of buildings damaged by the war in Moscow and Leningrad. In 1956, he enrolled in the course of graphic designers at Soyuzmultfilm studio, and worked in this profession until 1963. In 1964, he graduated from the courses for animators. In 1968, he made his debut as art director, and in 1973 - as a director. From 1977-79 he worked in Minsk at the Belarusfilm studio, and from 1980-90 he worked as a director at Ecran. Later he collaborated with the studios "Christmas Films", "FAF" and others. His works have always been hand-drawn animation.
