In 1983, Novogrudskaya shot the iconic film "Swans" (scriptwriter A. Timofeyevskiy), which was based on three stories from "ABC" (Azbuka) by Leo Tolstoy. The film ends with a quote from the novel War and Peace. Animators Fazil Hasanov and Mihail Pershin, art-director Galina Beda, cameraman Yevgeniy Turevich were invited to work on the picture. The uniqueness of the pictorial range and the subtlety of the applied transfer technique were recognized by professionals and were reflected in the article by Irina Povolotskaya, published in the same year in the newspaper "Soviet Culture".
