Description:
A species of vampire-birds causes problems for exploiting the minerals of a planet, but the ecological system of the planet proves to be more multifaceted than initially thought. Part 2. Based on Tishchenko's 1977 short story.

The film is based on the short story "The Vampire of Geinomius" (Вампир Гейномиуса) that was written by the director of the film and published in 1977 (in a journal) and 1982 (in a book). The original story can be read here.
The Hollywood actors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone make animated appearances.

The fact that they leave the planet so readily at the end suggests to me that the cutthroat capitalist mindset had not yet penetrated very deeply into Russia. Which makes a lot of sense, as the story was written in 1977. The faces are American, but they sure don't act very American!
