This film is part of the Parasolka series.

Description:

Parasolka, an assistant in a traveling circus who does the menial tasks, is forced to fill in for the main performers one day when they get delayed on the road.

The film is wordless and, although there is some Russian-language text, it's possible to understand what it says entirely from visual cues.

The Ukrainian title is "Парасолька в цирку", but a version of the film which is in Ukrainian, if it ever existed, is not currently online.

An illustrated book adaptation of the film in the "Film-skazka" series was released in 1983. You can read it (in Russian) here, or see a video of the book's pages being turned here.

The final film in the "Parasolka" series, made after a 3-year gap. It feels quite different from the rest, and is also probably the best of them. Which is no surprise, considering that the director was none other than Vladimir Dakhno, a master of comedic timing and slapstick who had already become well-known for his "Cossacks" series.

The basic plot is like Charlie Chaplin's "The Circus" (1928), if everything had turned out well.
