Description:

A mistreated donkey, dog, cat and rooster band together into a band of traveling musicians, then scare off a group of robbers. A close adaptation of the Grimm Brothers' folktale, The Town Musicians of Bremen.

The year is a bit uncertain. Some sources say the premiere was on March 16, 1938, others say 1937, the film itself has a date of 1936. It is possible that it was finished in 1936, theatrically released in 1938, and the 1937 date was an incorrect assumption made at some point by someone who assumed it couldn't have been finished more than a year before it was released, but hadn't seen the actual film and so didn't see the 1936 date in it.
