Description:

A beekeeper decides to share his honey with a friend. This generous act leads to war. Based on a story by Armenian poet and writer Hovhannes Tumanyan.

The first video above is the Russian version, which has better colours but is in the wrong frame rate (slightly sped up at 25 fps). The second video is the Armenian version, which has very faded colours but is played at the correct speed (24 fps).

Winner of award in Kiev, 1969.

The director and animator of this film, Valentin Podmogov, was a very important figure in the birth of animation in Armenia. The composer was Robert Amirhanyan.
