This film is part of the Leopold the Cat series.
Description:
Leopold the Cat catches a talking golden fish who begs for its freedom. He lets it go, but the bullying mice are not so kind when they get their chance.
Loosely based on the Russian folk tale about the golden fish.
This is second film that was made in the popular "Leopold the Cat" series. The first one ("Leopold the Cat's Revenge") had not been released due to studio misgivings, and this one was only first publicly shown three years after it was made, in 1978. However, it became popular, and led eventually both to the release of the first one in 1981, and to a continuation of the series (but with a radically different art style and animation technique, though still the same director).

I remember really loving the opening song in this one... though I thought the rest of the film never quite matched it.
